About
The conference is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding biochemist Viktor Evgenievich Vaskovsky.
The preliminary conference program includes the following sessions:
1. History of lipid research and novel research methods
2. Lipids of aquatic organisms
3. Lipids of plants and fungi
4. Lipids and human health
5. Practical applications and lipid biotechnology
The conference aims to strengthen scientific and professional contacts and coordinate the development of scientific research in the field of lipidology. Leading Russian biochemists are scheduled to present their review reports on the conference topics.
Conference format: Hybrid: in-person or remote participation.
Presentation formats: Oral (plenary, sessional) and poster.
Conference languages: Russian and English.
Conference venue: Conference hall of the A.V. Zhirmunsky National Scientific Center of Marine Biology, Far Eastern Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences (NSCMB FEB RAS), Vladivostok, ul. Palchevskogo 17.
The conference proceedings will be published with an ISBN, registered in the the the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) system, and made available in the Russian Scientific Electronic Library (eLIBRARY.RU).

October 2025 marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Viktor Evgenievich Vaskovsky (1935–2016), an outstanding biochemist, Doctor of Biological Sciences, a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and an Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. As the founder of lipid biochemistry research in the Far East, he established a scientific school at the Institute of Marine Biology, Far Eastern Scientific Center, USSR Academy of Sciences (currently the A.V. Zhirmunsky National Scientific Center of Marine Biology, Far Eastern Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences, NSCMB FEB RAS). His students have worked and continue to work not only in institutes and universities in Vladivostok and the Far Eastern region but also abroad. V.E. Vaskovsky's research in lipids was not limited to marine topics; it also covered higher plants, fungi, and various medical aspects of lipidology. He authored over 100 highly cited scientific papers and dozens of patents for inventions. Thanks to the research conducted by the Laboratory of Comparative Biochemistry, founded by V.E. Vaskovsky in 1972, the NSCMB FEB RAS is now one of the world's leading centers for the study of lipids in marine organisms.
